August is here, which means back to school shopping is quickly approaching. Here are a few tips that will help you shop smart and save money.

1. Make a list- Most schools hand out a list of required school supplies, but for those of you who do not get a supplies list, a good idea would be to check with other parents at your school who have older kids. They could have great advice on what your child needs to succeed in school.
2. Get what you need, not what you want- Creating a budget can help to separate your child's wants from needs, plus it is a good way to save a few bucks.
3. Last years leftovers- Take a look at previous year's school supplies and determine what can be reused.
